2019/8/29 Australia once again Broke the Record of Photovoltaic Energy Efficiency: Conversion Rate Reached 34.5%.

    2019-08-29

Researchers at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Australia have once again broken the energy efficiency record of photovoltaic cells, raising solar energy conversion efficiency to an astonishing 34.5%.
Previously, Alta Devices in the United States had set a 24% conversion rate record, but the new equipment built by Mark Keevers and Martin Green, senior researchers at the Australian Advanced Optoelectronics Center under UNSW, has improved performance a lot.
In 2014, they used mirrors to focus light and set the conversion rate at more than 40%. However, this time, the new equipment did not "cheat", but under normal lighting conditions achieved this result.
