2020/12/8 In Situ Visualization of Lithium Transport in Sulfide Solid State Battery for the First Time

    2020-12-08

According to Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Process, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Cui Guanglei and Ma Jun, associate researcher of Qingdao Institute of Energy, cooperated with Dr. Li Chao and Professor Luo Jun of Tianjin University of science and technology, and Gu Lin, researcher of Institute of physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. By using in situ scanning transmission electron microscopy differential phase contrast imaging technology, lithium ion transport at the interface of lithium cobalt oxide / sulfide electrolyte was realized for the first time Through the design and preparation of interface structure with discontinuous distribution of barium titanate (BaTiO3) nano single crystal particles, the feasibility of a new built-in electric field and chemical potential coupling technology to improve the interface lithium transport is proved, which provides a new technical scheme for improving the interface lithium ion transport and improving the battery fast charging performance.

In addition, it provides a scientific understanding of the relationship between the structure of solid-state batteries and the high-efficiency of solid-state batteries.
